The air is getting crisp, and our music room is filled with the joyful sounds of the season! We’ve had a fantastic and productive November, diving into new concepts and getting into the holiday spirit a little early. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to and what’s coming soon.

These songs aren’t just fun to sing; they’ve been the foundation for some incredible learning!
📚 Spotlight on Learning: The Magic of Rhyming Words
We’ve been exploring how rhyming words are like secret clues in a song! By listening for rhymes, our young musicians are learning to predict what word comes next and are memorizing lyrics more easily. Ask your child to point out the rhyming words next time you sing one of our monthly songs together—you’ll be amazed at what they discover!
🎼 Exploring Melody & Rhythm
Our musical exploration didn’t stop with singing! This month, we’ve been:
Experimenting with Melody: Using tongue drums and xylophones, students have been creating their own simple melodies and learning to play the familiar tunes of our monthly songs. It’s wonderful to see their confidence grow as they connect what they hear with what they play.
Reading Rhythmic Notation: We’ve taken our first steps into reading music! Students have been learning how to read a rhythmic staff notation, understanding how different notes tell us how long or short to hold a sound. This is a fundamental and exciting skill for any budding musician!
